Eurofox Glider Tug - ​​​​​​​now with Rotax 915iS @ 141hp

 The EuroFOX Tug will make a profit on aerotows and pay for itself in 6-8000 tows or provide this income for clubs to grow in other areas of their operation. 

Traditional tugs use all the income from aerotows, and maybe more from other revenue sources, to run and maintain airworthiness.


The EuroFOX 915 is approved as a tail dragger or nose wheel and to aerotow all gliders from vintage and single seaters to 850kgs MAUW

 This latest variant of the robust EuroFOX Tug has shown to out perform all existing traditional tugs - Ground roll shorter, higher climb rate (750ft min for a K21), fastest time to 2000 ft (3 mins K21 at 30 deg C), quickest cycle time, lowest fuel burn 1.5 litres mogas per 1000 ft, lower maintenance costs. 

Arcus M fully loaded at 850kgs and 30 deg C in still conditions was towed to 2000 ft in 4 mins 20 secs with a tarmac ground roll of approx 300 metres. Tow all your fleet from vintage at 50kts, to the fastest ballasted single seaters up to 85kts

  

In July 23 during the international vintage rally, in one day the 915 Eurofox completed 33 tows to a total altitude of 82,000 ft, using 96 litres of mogas, giving 1.17 ltrs per 1000ft of towing. Amazing....


Aston down using their 915  towed a Capstan with 2 very large pilots to 10200 ft, up to height from "all out" by 17 mins and landed in 22 mins total. 1.9 litres mogas per 1000 feet.


The 141hp 915iS is the only tug we offer from new now, however we are able to "re-engine" existing 100hp tugs with the Rotax 915iS if required.

First approved in the UK in 2011, operational UK clubs have found the reliability, durability and economy of the EuroFOX has enabled them to grow membership and increase their number of aerotows (bucking the UK trend).


Gliding clubs are finding it more and more expensive and difficult to maintain and run older aircraft and with EASA and the need for C of A maintenance schedules, aerotows are becoming less popular with many clubs now seeing increasing winch launches.


The EuroFOX has pioneered a Rotax powered dedicated tug in the UK, there are some motor gliders that have Rotax engines, and can be used as tugs, however these are often heavy aircraft and not suitable as dedicated tugs, and are generally only used as motor gliders.


The Rotax engine 900 series has been in production now for 30 years with over 40,000 units produced and millions of airtime hours logged. These engines are used in over 90% of the world's light sport aircraft, very reliable and economical, with a simple maintenance regime under the BMAA, why would you risk choosing anything else?
